Job Description

Project Manager

The Project Manager is the primarily responsible party for management of the project. The PM shall be the designated person to be on-site and direct support for this project as the CMa. 

 

  • Manage and coordinate the numerous disciplines and trades surrounding large design-build office building and/or lab facility construction projects $1.5M - $2.0M
  • Use computer-based scheduling software and have the ability to interpret schedules generated from this system. 
  • Demonstrate experience with electronic project management applications inclusive of various modules such as budget tracking, Schedule of Values (SOV) input, Request for Information (RFI) submittal/response functionality, etc. 
  • Coordinate day-to-day site issues relating to materials, labor, and equipment utilization on large commercial projects.  
  • Understand and manage all aspects of design and construction phases within a design build project, as well as manage projects of similar size and technical complexity in occupied facilities.
  • Read and interpret complicated contract documents, and apply this knowledge in effective and timely problem solving.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and above all possess the ability to act as a facilitator during project meetings.
Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (or a degree in a related field such as Architecture or Engineering)
  • Industry/Professional Certifications are desirable and may be rated more favorably.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in the field of construction management and/or inspection of construction projects Experience
  • Personnel with direct construction management experience as gained in a project manager or superintendent role in the construction industry may be rated more favorably

 

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Occasional low and high temperatures due to working outside during all seasons, along with elements such as precipitation and wind.
  • Occasional noise while on construction sites.
